# How do I use PromptPal in ChatGPT?

## Direct answer

The quickest way is the PromptPal Chrome extension, which adds your prompts inside ChatGPT. To let ChatGPT use PromptPal directly, turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT (Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced settings), create a connector with the address https://mcp.promptpal.app and OAuth sign-in, then choose Allow. The connector needs a paid ChatGPT plan and a PromptPal Starter or Pro plan.

## Option 1: the Chrome extension

The [PromptPal Chrome extension](https://www.promptpal.app/chrome-extension) works in Chrome, Edge and Brave. It adds an "Improve with PromptPal" button inside ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, and lets you pick prompts from your library without leaving the chat. It's free to install.

## Option 2: connect PromptPal to ChatGPT

A connector lets ChatGPT call PromptPal itself: write prompts in your style, search your library and save prompts.

1. In ChatGPT, open **Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced settings** and turn on **Developer mode**. Custom connectors need ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise.
2. Back in **Apps & Connectors**, choose **Create**. Name it **PromptPal** and paste **https://mcp.promptpal.app**.
3. Set **Authentication** to **OAuth**, tick "I trust this application", then choose **Create**.
4. ChatGPT opens a PromptPal window. Check it's your account and choose **Allow**.
