# How do I use PromptPal in Claude?

## Direct answer

In Claude, open Settings › Connectors, choose Add custom connector, name it PromptPal and paste https://mcp.promptpal.app. Choose Connect, sign in to PromptPal and choose Allow. Then ask Claude things like "Use PromptPal to write a prompt for a launch email". Connecting needs a PromptPal Starter or Pro plan.

## What you need

- A Claude account where you can add custom connectors.
- A PromptPal account on a paid plan ([Starter or Pro](https://www.promptpal.app/pricing)). Free accounts can still use the [Chrome extension](https://www.promptpal.app/chrome-extension) inside Claude.

## Connect PromptPal to Claude

1. In Claude, open **Settings › Connectors** and choose **Add custom connector**.
2. Name it **PromptPal** and paste the address **https://mcp.promptpal.app**, then choose **Add**. Leave sign-in on Claude's suggested settings.
3. Choose **Connect** next to PromptPal. A PromptPal page opens; check it shows your account and choose **Allow**.
4. You're back in Claude with PromptPal connected. It also shows as connected on your PromptPal **Connect** page.

## What you can ask Claude to do

- **Write a prompt in your style:** "Use PromptPal to write a prompt for a launch email." This uses PromptPal credits, the same as in the app.
- **Find a saved prompt:** "Search my PromptPal library for onboarding."
- **Fill a template:** "Get my weekly report prompt from PromptPal and fill in team = Sales."
- **Save a prompt:** "Save this as a PromptPal prompt called Bakery outreach." Claude asks before saving.
- **Read your style:** "What's my PromptPal style?"

Mentioning PromptPal by name helps Claude pick the right tool. If Claude says it doesn't have PromptPal, check the connector is turned on for that chat in the tools menu.

## Disconnecting

Open **Connect** in your PromptPal dashboard and choose **Disconnect** on the Claude card. Claude loses access straight away.

## FAQs

### Can Claude see all my PromptPal data?

Claude can read your Library prompts, your style and your approved Context Blocks, and save new prompts, but only the access you allowed. It can't see your password, billing or payment details, and it can't delete prompts or change your settings.

### Why does connecting need a paid plan?

Connecting AI apps to PromptPal is part of the Starter and Pro plans. If you downgrade, the connection is kept and works again when you upgrade.
